Mini Slimline Greetings

Mini Slimline Cards are trending right now and I thought I’d make some for you. The great thing about them is they allow you to use up any left over 6 x 6 paper pads. You know, the ones that always seem to be laying around because you couldn’t find a use for the left over pages in them or the pages that just didn’t seem to fit with any of the other pages in the pad. All you have to do is cut the 6 x 6 page in half and you have a front panel for your mini slimline card!

You’ll need:

  • paper trimmer
  • 8.5″ x 11″ piece of cardstock cut down to 6.5″ x 6.25″ and folded in half to make a 3.25″ x 6.25″ card (save the left over pieces to use for die cutting, for decorations on the card, or for matting your other images/embellishments)
  • 6 x 6 piece of patterned paper cut at the 3″ mark so you get two pieces of 3″ x 6″ pieces to use for the front of the card
  • adhesive
  • decorative elements such as die cut shapes, focal images, ephemera, etc.
  • Mead #6 3/4 envelopes (look for the ones that are not security lined) or make your own

Once that’s all ready to go, just adhere your 3″ x 6″ piece of pattern paper to the front of your 3.25″ x 6.25″ card base and you are ready to decorate it! I like to use the left over pieces from the 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock to use as a mat for a focal image or a die cut decoration. It’s up to you. Have fun and let your creativity go!
