Psalm 19 Bible Journaling

Hello and Welcome! Today, I’m doing some bible journaling on Psalm 19. Read and study the bible online at https://www.blueletterbible.org/ Learn more about evidence for God at https://www.icr.org/

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

This is such a beautiful Psalm. It teaches us that no matter where we are on earth, or who we are, that we can all look up and see God’s glory in the heavens and in His creation. This means that His creation is evidence of His existence. We see it every day. Often, we wonder at it or are in awe of it’s beauty. This leads some to worship creation instead of the creator – such as those who worship mother nature in the new age philosophies or those that follow astrology. Instead, we should understand God’s awesome and infinite knowledge and power when we see creation. He loves us so very much. He created you for a reason. He has a purpose and plan for you.

Although we can see God’s handywork in creation, creation can’t testify to his salvation plan for you. His Word can…the Bible. Read it, all of it, without prejudice and you will learn of his love and mercy for you which he showed when Jesus came and died on the cross to take the punishment for your sins and was resurrected to show us that we can have eternal life too if we believe in Him and confess our sins and turn from them. Don’t wait. Jesus is coming back soon.

Faith: Hebrews 11 Bible Journaling

Seeing is not believing. Believing is seeing! Many people think faith is blind. That could not be further from the truth. Faith is based on good evidence. As born again Christians know, the Holy Spirit living inside of us is evidence that Jesus is real and the bible is true. As a non-believer, creation testifies of our Creator. We can’t look at a building and not realize there was a builder or look at a painting and not think there was a painter. Therefore, when we see creation, we have to concede that there was a creator.

I did a bible journaling video on Hebrews 11, known as the faith chapter. I wrote the word faith in big block letters and drew images of heaven on earth that will happen in the thousand year reign of Christ on earth. It will be a beautiful time and if you don’t know Jesus, you need to. Tell Him you’re sorry for your sins, mean it, turn from them, and believe that he loves you and died to pay for your sins so you could be reconciled to Him. Then, you’ll be saved and born again. It will be a miracle and you will be changed. Read the bible; start with the book of John, and pray for understanding and guidance.

Bible Journaling: Genesis 1 – The Creation

In the beginning…famous words, beautiful words. Creation is beautiful. Creation implies a Creator. The concept is simple. God has a way of using the foolish things to confound the wise. The idea that all creatures were created by God (and that humans were created in His image) gives dignity, worth, and purpose to each and every one of us… something people seem to be in desperate need of today. God knew beforehand that the theory of evolution would rise up and He even tried to warn us about it in His word. The book of Genesis was written by Moses long before Jesus came to earth and certainly long before Charles Darwin wrote his book, “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life”. In Genesis, God repeats a simple phrase over and over. Do you know what that phrase is?  It is, “after his kind”. It seems He wanted to drive that point home to anyone willing to listen…even before the theory of evolution was founded.

Every time Genesis tells us that a creature was created, it says that it brought forth creatures after his kind. This means that each type of creature could only bring forth creatures that were of its own kind. I always used to wonder why God would repeat himself over an over. I believe now it was because He knew beforehand so many would be fooled by the theory of evolution and He wanted to set us straight! In celebration of this, I did some bible journaling in Genesis 1.  The video is below. If you’d like more information on the science of creation you can find many scholarly articles at https://www.icr.org and https://www.answersingenesis.org. I particularly like the “That’s a Fact” videos on the ICR website.

Bible Journaling Psalm 24:1 KJV

Psalm 24:1 KJV The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

When I read this verse, it made me think of the song, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” So, of course, I wanted an image of the earth. That’s when I thought of using my Creative Devotion rub ons because it has an aqua color circle that could easily double for the earth. Next, I drew on the land and then stamped some cute little faces around the “earth” from a stamp set called, “Stick Family” by Stampabilities. I am not able to find the stamp set online anymore, but I originally purchased it at a Hobby Lobby store. Enjoy the video above and don’t forget to see the products below that!

Bible Journaling Luke 16:31

Bible Journaling is something that is new to me.  Adding images to my bible to illustrate what a verse means to me really helps me to remember and cement these ideas and verses in my heart and mind.  I hope they can provide insight, illumination, or encouragement to others.  My journaling bible was purchased from Dayspring.com.  You can get it from Amazon also. (I am an affiliate for Amazon and DaySpring). It  has large margins for notes and so on, which I prefer because I don’t like covering up the Word of God.  Anyway, the verse is Luke 16:31 which tells about a rich man and poor man and what happens to them when they die.  Check out my YouTube video to hear more and see my illustrations.  Have a great day!
