I love patterned paper! You can use it to make some very fun and beautiful projects. Of course, I tend to use it to make cards. Today, I’m going to show you how to use one (yes, just one) 12″ x 12″ sheet of patterned paper to make a card, coordinating envelope and gift tag. Perfect for the holiday season! I love Christmas, especially the lights. The feeling of peace and joy abounds when lights are all aglow at night. To replicate the glow, I used foiling details on the poinsettia focal images in the card for today. It was not difficult to do. Using a glue pen, I traced the petals of the poinsettias and let it dry. Then, I used gold deco foil to create that shine. You can do this with any image you have. Foil comes in many different colors and varieties. Green foil to outline the leaves of a Christmas tree or multi color foil to add lights to a tree is one choice. Pearlescent foil for snowflakes is another. As I always say, your imagination is your only limitation. I hope you’ll give this card a try! Who has time to make their own Christmas cards? Well, I love it, so it is not a hassle to make the time. Seriously, though, here is an easy and quick card to make. The layout is very simple. Only a few tools are required that most of us crafters have on hand.

The layout is super simple, which lends itself to making a bunch of them quickly. You can use the same layout and different papers to get a set of Christmas cards to send to everyone on your list. Of course, you’ll need to have some circle stickers or some other focal point for the outside and inside of the card. I used the chipboard and stickers sheet from the Echo Park collection, “Here Comes Santa Clause”. Instead, you could cut a smaller scalloped circle and stamp it with a greeting or image using acrylic or rubber stamps. If you don’t have that or don’t want to go to the trouble, here are two .png images you can use for free (one for front and one for inside)! Right click the image and choose save image as to save it to your computer.

If you want to wow them, then you have to make a light up card. When I think of fall, I always think of the beautiful gold, orange, and red colors that always give such a warm feeling…especially when light infuses them. The fall card below was made with the Chibitronics light kit. It’s easier than you think.
